Smoking & Obesity: Weight Gain Quantified

It has long been known that when smokers stop the bad habit, they are at risk for gaining weight. A new study reveals some intriguing facts about this phenomenon. The study, when taken together with previous findings, allows us to quantify the weight gain from smoking cessation. It seems to average between five and ten pounds. The good news, though, is that not everyone will gain weight when they discontinue their smoking habit.
